PROBLEM

when i pluggled my ps 2 to my television set it started and when I inserted the cd in it then it does not any thing only two options appear on screen browser and system configration and when i clicked on browser it gives me disc read error

SOLUTION

• ok for anyone trying this guide the first thing i should mention is you are playing around with a lot of voltage so be very careful.
  secondly if the laser has slipped it will not have moved far if it does not work within 4 clicks each way your laser is pretty much screwed plus there are several different models and some adjust in more directions this is a great fix for this problem with old ps2
  but if it dont work within those 4 clicks give it up your laser is dead or dying

PROBLEM

I BOUGHT A USED PS2 AND I DONT KNOW THE PASSCODE

SOLUTION

• Put a dvd into the ps2 and let it try to load. When the screen says chenge to level four select yes. When the entry window pops up,press the select button on the controller. It should say reset password or something like that. Put in 7444. Then when you rename the password put in 0000. You will have to do it again 0000.
  Once the movie starts, not the menu screen, but the movie actually playing, Press Select button again. The PS2 DVD menu should appear. Cursor over to the toolbox or Setup, and press X. Cursor over to the third icon, and press X. Arrow down to PArental and press X. Change the Parental lockout to OFF.
  
  I am not completely sure about the procedure here but the numbers are correct.

PROBLEM

I have been using my playstation 2 with no problems. One day I plug everything in and nothing happens. I tried different plugs, plugging it in an out, rehooking up the cables and nothing.

SOLUTION

• I believe your PS2 has a short circuit and needs another motherboard. If you can do this yourself, that’s great. You can find Motherboards or a PS2 like yours that will not read discs or has Disc Read Errors but will boot up for about $25 on Ebay. If you’re not comfortable with Changing out your motherboard, then click on the "Repair directory" at the bottom of this screen. On the Repair Directory Screen, select Video Game Consoles. Choose a good Repair shop.

SOLUTION

• Has anyone encountered the problem where you are able to login, get into the lobbies, etc. but when someone invites you to a game and you accept it opens up but only shows your team....the other team does not appear to be in the room, even though they are? Does anyone have a solution for that because it's very irritating. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
