PROBLEM

Hi my bb pearl won't ring anymore. it was working fine then it just stoped wanting to ring. anyone know what to do. i checked all the settings and everything is activated and on loud.

SOLUTION

1. Blackberries are famous for requiring the "take battery out and put back in" proceedure to reset things. Give it a try if you have not yet.
2. Okay I had the same problem, if you have a Blackberry 8100, go to media, video files, and play a video...if you have no sound tap the top button once quickly (it's the silver buttonon top which has a speaker icon on it with a line go through it,if you still hear no sound use the volume keys on the sound and you should hear the video playing, which in turn will turn on all you volumes for you phone to ring etc.
3. Yep, the battery reboot just worked for me on this same problem.

PROBLEM

I can only hear people talking when I have the Pearl on speaker

SOLUTION

1. Blackberry Pearl : can not turn off speaker phone. Have to receive call only on the speaker or else I can not hear them talk.
2. Pearl's speaker volume is generally pretty low, but quite OK for a reasonably quiet room. Make sure you press the 'P' key to turn on the speaker phone. You will get an icon in the display window which indicates it. Also, of course, make sure you turn the volume all the way using the keys on the side. Watch the volume slider icon to make sure it's all the way up.

PROBLEM

my blackberry pearl lost charge while still under warranty and i was sent a new one today. i put my sim card in and the new battery. a red light on the front flashes. i put it onto charge for a few hours, but now can't turn it on. it is brand new. is there a special way to turn it on the very first time.

SOLUTION

1. if you have a memory ship in the phone and it wont turn in and is blinking red take out the memory card and start it
2. I had the same problem.... I took the battery out for a few minutes & when I put it back in charged it for a minute & tried to turn it on & it hey presto!!!!
