PROBLEM

Have managed to install the LG PC Suite on my computer, but when I connect the phone to the PC, and try to access my files, I soon get a runtime error message. This lists the location of the software on my PC and then states "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information".

I don't have a clue who can help.

1. stop posting soluions!! it's a pain in the other end, cuz i think there's an actual solution. stop being silly please i've got wedding photos that need to be sent to unwel relative and i cant do it! post a proper forum post!!!!!

PROBLEM

everytime i try and connect my lg viewty to my pc to download photos i open the lg suit connect te usb and try to syncronise the pc and phone and it says my "com port" is either not working or i should go in thro an idle screen. Can anyone shed any light on this becuase im confused, all i wanna do is get my photos off the phone.

SOLUTION

1. The Idle Screen is the main/home screen of your phone - the screen that appears after your phone introduces itself after switching on. In order to sync, the PC Suite needs the phone to be on the Idle Screen or Home Screen for some odd reason.
2. try clicking the button on top right hand of screen (multitasking button) see if there are any menus open . pc suit wont connect if there are any open menus. so u will need to close any b4 tring to connect.
3. Eventually I have managed to syncronise the PC and the LG phone and enabled the transfer of files from the phone to the computer. This is what I did :
   1- started the LG suite with the phone in standby
   2- clicked on the synk configuration button
   3- cleared all the squares except "Contacts", replacing MS Outlook with Outlook Express
   4- clicked on the "syncronise now" button and the syncronisation was successfull.
   
   after that, I activated LG PC Suite, the LG window came up in the computer and I was able to copy the files from the LG to My Documents by just moving them with the mouse pointer.
   Now I can open the .JPG and .DivX files in my computer OK, but I can not open the .3GP files because Windows does not recognise them.

PROBLEM

Battery loses charge very quickly on my KU990 Viewty. Not getting any helpful support from LG (is there such a thing as "unhelpful support?).

SOLUTION

1. Have you made sure the bluetooth is switched off? because this drains the battery quickly
2. My viewty dies REALLY quickly if I charge it using the USB cable or my LG310 charger. If I charge like this then it last about 1-2 hours... When I charge it using the wall charger then it lasts a day or 2 so I guess it must be something to do with the way the other charge or the USB cable work... Very strange I know but happens everytime.
3. The first day a got my LG viewity it was doing the same fine completely dead the next morning but I turned it off and recharged it until it was FULL then i havent had that problem since. Its good to activate Power Saver too

PROBLEM

the disc i have been given to download the pc suite installer does not fit into my p.c! do you know if there is somewhere i can get this from so that i can synch my phone to my p.c? at the moment i am using vista.

SOLUTION

1. I have a copy of the cd on my hard drive mail me rwf@epost.no and I can share/send a RAR packet file of the cd (KU990)
2. Take the CD and put it in another computer that can read it and copy the contents to a USB stick, then u can take it and install it into your PC.. thats what i did.... OR you can download it from

PROBLEM

i got this phone recently and wasn't told that the **** would not load onto my mac. i need to find where to download this version or get a normal sized disk for it.

SOLUTION

1. We found a solution for connecting LG Viewty + Mac at http://www.handcellphone.com. Disconnect USB cable. On phone:Settings > Connectivity > USB Connection Mode > Mass Storage. Then plug your KU990 into your mac via the USB and it SOULD appear on the desktop.
   However: an error message appears: “insert memory card for mass storage”
   The mini disk that came with the phone doesn’t seem compatible with mac computers. It seems an external memory does the trick.
   Also: someone called Duncan has developed software, to be found at http://www.fullreleases.biz/, under 'Full Lg Viewty Mac Software'. Problem here is that I'm not sure it's possible to sign up for just a single download... they want to sell a permanent membership for $ 29.95!
   
   Hope this helps... and for the time being, we'll use bluetooth - with a fast gsm like the Viewty, it works fine.
   Sync-ing probably will only work with the above mentioned software!
