How do i put ringtones on my lg shine?

PROBLEM

i am trying to ringtones from my computerr to my lg shinee...they are in mp3 format but when i put them....i go under audio and ringtones....but when i go to that ringtone it does not allow me to apply it as a ringtone?? how come??

SOLUTION

  1. Gahhh.. I seriously spent hours trying to figure out how to get my ringtone to work, and I FINALLY found the solution.

Simply import your ringtone file to makeownringtone.com and redownload the ringtone and then copy and paste the file onto your microsd card.

Works like a charm :). I hope this helps.
  2. SOLUTION!!! (for those with a memory card but no usb cable!)

I’ve been having the same problem in trying to find a way to set my music as ringtones. Here’s what you can do:

-Make sure the file is appropriate.. 30 seconds or less, mp3 format
-When you add your music to the memory card, it shows up as a song but not as a ringtone right?

The solution is to create a different folder rather than using the “Music” folder the phone automatically creates for you. Transfer your music to this new folder you’ve created. The ringtones should show up as long as it fits the requirements! :] Hope this helps!
  3. You have to somehow cut the song down to UNDER 300KB. From there, the only way I've been able to work is to literally e-mail my song file from my computer, to my phone as a text message. This is the only luck I've had, lemme know if you have any luck.

You can e-mail the song file as an attatchment in an e-mail to your cell phone's TXT messaging address, which should be this:
    0000000000@mms.att.net
The zero's being your cell phone number (Including area code)

From there, simply open the text message once received on your phone (Can take up to 5 minutes) and then go to options>view attachment>select the sound file>save

Its a bit of work, but it seems to work for me.
    I hope I've helped.
  4. The ringtones on the shine will only play for 19 secs or so. this phone has a short ringing-duration before it swithes to voicemail. so i do all my ringtones as 30secs or less otherwise it will not set the tone. it will also play mpeg-4 files but not set them as they are far to large. My previous phone had i-tunes (mp4) and i had 100 songs on my mSD card. Much to my surprise when i put the card in the shine and opened the mp3 player, all the songs showed up(including the mp3 tones i had on it)! The only problem: well the file-name system is different between the two, so they all had names like 154hr8y7.mp4. sucks. and when i try to change file names with the phone it shuts down and restarts
